Generalization:
Topic Development:
Delivery:
Language Use:

Choose an object you like and explain why it is of special value to you. Please include specific examples and details in your explanation. 2. Some people tend to judge a person on the basis of first observation. Some people believe it takes a long time to know a person well. Which approach to knowing people do you think is better and why? 可以使用的摸板如下:well, as for me, I definitely believe that the XX I like the most is AAA. The reason is rather simple: first, I choose AAA because it is of great importance to me. You know, it____________. Second, AAA also means a lot to my family. It does turn out to be great because it ____________. Third, AAA helps a lot to build up my future. It ______. 然后是两道integrated listening/reading/speaking questions: 3. 关键是牢牢掌握女子的话:她认为it is time! Because artificial light makes it difficult to catch the real color. 二是another university across the town already has a splendid art building and many prospective students choose to go to that school for this reason. 问题是:the woman expresses her opinion of the university plan. State her opinion and explain the reasons she uses for holding that opinion. 4. 先是一则quotation from an advertising textbook. The movie producer quoted a very prominent movie critic’s review that the movie is “delightful”, in their local newspaper advertisement. Many people went for this movie because they believed that critic thought highly of this movie. But actually, the critic thought very negatively about this movie and it was the worst she had ever watched. She only meant that the movie actress was “delightful”, not the movie! 问题是:explain how the example used by the professor illustrate quoting out of context. I erased my final draft of research paper from my computer accidentally, but it is due by midnight! 女学生支招:solution one: call the technical department. They always have a way to recover your file. It is true that they are closed but they offer an emergency number. The only problem is that they charge extra fees for service out of regular hours. Solution two: call the professor in the morning and ask for an extension by explaining your situation. The problem is that the professor may deduct a few points from the man’s grade, while the man really wants to do well in his assignment. The students discuss two possible solutions to the man’s problem. Describe the problem. Then state which of the two solutions you prefer and explain why. 6. Lecture in a science and technology class: the female professor is talking about that in the long long human history, inventions and innovations always happen in one of the two ways: intentionally and accidentally. First, she quotes an example of intentional innovation: bi-focus glasses. Before the bi-focus glasses were invented, people had to carry two pairs of glasses sometimes and this was very inconvenient. Thus, bi-focus glasses were intentionally invented to solve this problem. Second, she takes another example of accidental innovation: the discovery of X-ray. When people first encountered X-ray in the lab, they had no idea of what this discovery meant, or where to put this discovery into application. Using points and examples from the talk, explain the two ways of innovation presented by the professor. 1. chimpanzees has similar ability of human being in learning language. 2. chimps 可以掌握 vocabulary 3. chimps 可以掌握 grammar 4. chimps 可以与researchers carry out a simple but genuine conversation with extended hours. 1. Chimps’ learning ability is by no means close to that of human beings. 2. Chimps can only pick up a few Yerkish words after researchers’ intentional repeating. While human children can learn more than one language by simply listening. 3. Chimps only know to put a few words together and this can not be called “grammar”. 4. The so called “conversation” is normally dominated by the researchers by keeping asking questions, while chimps only do the responding part. 问题是:summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to specifically explain how they cast doubt on points made in the reading passage. 问题是:可再生能源renewable sources of energy,(sun, water ,wind)很快就会取代化石燃料(fossil fuel, such as gas, oil and coal ). For this task, you will write an essay in response to a question that asks you to state, explain, and support your opinion on an issue. Typically, an effective essay will contain a minimum of 300words.

When I paly games, I play for fun. I believe that playing games is one of the best ways to relax. After working all day, I’m always exhausted, so playing games and having fun enables me to forget my worries, and not be so stressed. Some people play games just to win, but I beleive if you play games to win, and you don’t win, you will irritable. And people will you think you’re difficult to get along with. So it will be a lot harder for you to make friends. So that’s why I prefer to play for fun because there is no pressure involved. I can help myself relax, and it’s just more fun that way.

Similarly, these reasons are also usable when we consider that________________. Admittedly, __________________A也有好的地方______________.By he same token, however, ______________B更好____________.Takingsintosaccount of all these factors, we may reach the conclusion that_____________. Introduction-Relationship between reading and lecture The lecturer talks about research conducted by a firm that used the group to handle their work. He says that the theory stated in the passage was very different and somewhat inaccurate when compared to what happened in reality.First Point of Contrast First, some members got free rides. That is, some didn’t work hard but got recognition for the success nonetheless. This also indicates that people who hard were not given recognition they should have gotten. In other words, weren’t given the opportunity to “shine”. This directly contradicts what the passage indicates.Second Point of Contrast Second, groups were slow in progress. The passage says that groups are more responsive than individuals because of the number of people involved and aggregated resources. However, the speaker talks about how the firm found that groups were slower than individuals in decision making. Groups needed time for meetings, which are necessary procedures in decision making. This is another place where experience contradicted theory. Third Point of Contrast Third, influential people might emerge and lead the group towards glory If the influent people are going in the right direction there would be no problem. But in cases where they go in the wrong direction, there is nobody that has influence to counter the decision made. In other words, the group might turn dictatorship, with the influential party as the leader, and might become less in its thinking. They might become one-sided, and thus fail to succeed. Introduction-Relationship between reading and lecture The lecturer talks about the natural process of crystallization and how the speed of cooling can influence such process, which is proved by Bowen’s crystallization experiment explained in the reading passage.Points in the lecture Natural crystallization happens when magma, which is extremely hot in its molten form deep in the earth, gradually cools off when it moves towards the surface of the earth. During the cooling process, the energy from heat is lost, and the atoms which compose the magma begin to move more slowly, forming into an orderly pattern, which turns the magma into a solid crystal structure. However, if the cooling process takes place too rapidly, then there is not enough time for the atoms to be arranged into such an orderly pattern. Therefore, crystallization can’t take place. Instead, a brittle, glass-like material will form. Points in the Reading Norman Bowen’s experiment in the 1920s proved this theory. By collecting and melting elements in rocks, Norman created artificial magma in his laboratory. He first cooled the magma slowly, as in the natural crystallization process, and got mineral crystals. But then he suddenly replaced this normal cooling with rapid freezing, and found frozen glass materials surrounding the solid crystal structure. _______________________________________________________祝你成功啦!

;托福口语回答How are you的N种方式
Thank you. And you?”
回答How are you的N种方式
1. Fine.
2. Not bad.
3. Fine, thanks.
4. Very well, thanks.
5. Pretty good.
6. Great! How are you doing?
7. I’m hanging in there.
8. I’ve been better.
How’s it going?
It’s going well.
What’s up?
1. Nothing much.
Nothing much. Just getting ready for graduation.
2. Not a lot.
3. Nothing.
4. Oh, just the usual.
5. Just the same old same old.
6. Oh gosh, all kinds of stuff!
How are you doing?
How are you doing,
1. I’m doing great today - and you?
2. Doing well, thanks. How about you?
3. Not bad, yourself?
4. Thanks for asking. I’m doing fine.

Students are encouraged to vote on the university’s proposal to change the food service on campus. Students should vote for which of two options they prefer. Option 1 would expand the main cafeteria in the Student Center, including the addition of more food choices and more dining space; this option would also close the two snack bars on campus. Option 2 would close the cafeteria in the Student Center but would maintain the two snack bars, and would add five food service areas across campus, including two cafes, a deli, a barbecue grill, and a fine dining room.
LISTENING
Sample conversation
W: Have you voted on the food service yet?
M: No, but I intend to. I’m going to vote for the second option.
W: That’s the one that closes the main cafeteria, isn’t it?
M: Right.
W: But the main cafeteria is in the Student Center. That’s where everyone goes at lunchtime. Doesn’t it make sense to have food there?
M: But it’s always so crowded in there at lunchtime. You have to wait a long time in the food line. And there are never enough places to sit.
W: That’s true, but they say they’ll add more tables.
M: There aren’t enough bike racks outside either. I have no place to put my bike. Most of the time, I eat at one of the snack bars. Besides, I like the idea of having several smaller eating places all over campus. That seems a lot more convenient, sine we have classes all over campus anyway. It also means less crowding, and you don’t have to wait as long to get your food. More food choices, too-----I also like the idea of barbecue on campus.
W: Yeah, that does sound good, doesn’t it?
The man expresses his opinion about the campus food service. State his opinion and explain the reasons he gives for holding that opinion.
Sample answer
The man votes to close the cafeteria in the Student Center. Because he thinks it is very crowding there in lunchtime. There is no place for his bike when he wants to have dinner. There are also not enough space for every student. She likes the idea to open several food service centers around campus. Because it’s more convenient and it’s not crowded if there are many food service centers. He also has not --------
She likes the idea to open several food service centers around campus. State his opinion and explain the reasons he gives for holding that opinion.
(2) There are also not enough space for every student.这句话如果表达为:there is also no enough space for every student to sit.
Including two cafes, a deli, a barbecue grill, and a fine dining room.
不过是关于an academic topic,总的来说,Task4比Task3的难度更加提升了一些,这就要考察你ablity of combining the main information of the reading with that of what you heared.
Reading
Social Interaction
People deal with each other every day. This interaction is at the heart of social life. The study of social interaction is concerned with the influence people have over one another’s behavior. People take each other into account in their daily behavior and in fact, the very presence of others can affect behavior. For example, one principle of social interaction, audience effects, suggests that individuals’ work is affected by their knowledge that they are visible to others, that the presence of others tends to alter the way people behave or perform an activity.
Explain how the examples of tying shoes and learning to type demonstrate the principle of audience effects.
Sample answer1
Here we talk about the way we interact each other. What we know and what we want and the others’ presence, behaviors will tend to our actions. This is an example of typing shoes and learning to type which demonstrates the principle of audience effects. Indeed we know we should affect common behaviors. If we type shoes faster, we could make more mistakes.
Sample answer2
There are two groups of students must have type their shoes. The first group which is told they will be observed type faster than the second group which is not told that they are observed. This is the first principle of the audience effect. Secondly, people who are told they are observed, when they are typing, they make more mistakes than the second group who are not told they are observed. This is the second principle of the audience effect.
First Second Third Fourth
Finally Then Next After that
Most importantly Another Furthermore Moreover
Before The first The second The final point
过渡词:but however and despite

There are two groups of students who are demanded to type their shoes.
W: People who are told they are observed, when they are typing, they make more mistakes than the second group who are not told they are observed.
